In 2006 Mark King founded Iowa Spray Foam in Carroll, Iowa out of his garage. Coming from a family of skilled carpenters and tradesman, he had a good background in construction. Mark’s first home was a berm home, which was very energy efficient. This home was the spark that got him interested in energy efficiency. Working a “regular job” for Casey’s General Stores driving a truck full time, and on the “off hours” Mark started this company. He worked for almost 2 years at both jobs until going full time. He completed Building Science and Energy Efficiency training at Kansas Building Science Institute, this gave Mark the education to provide good sound, educated advice on projects.
In 2013 Mark started a second company called KC Spray Foam & Coatings, in Olathe Kansas. KC Spray Foam provides the same services as Iowa Spray Foam, but in the Kansas City region.
Iowa Spray Foam has grown from a small, new company working out a garage part time, to a company that has completed multi-million-dollar spray foam and fireproofing jobs on $100 million dollar projects. All though the jobs have grown in size and scope, we still practice the philosophy that we treat every job like it is our own project.
